Mary Elizabeth Sperry holds a Master’s Degree in Liturgical Studies from the Catholic University of America and a master’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.   She has worked for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops since 1994. She is the author of Bible Top Tens (Our Sunday Visitor), Ten: How the Commandments Can Change Your Life (Franciscan Media), and Scripture in the Parish: A Guide for Ministers (Liturgical Press), and Real Life Faith (Liguori Publications). Her articles have appeared in on the America  magazine website and in the Liguorian Magazine, Emmanuel, Today’s Parish and other publications.  She has spoken in the Dioceses and Archdioceses of Baltimore, Los Angeles, Dallas, Harrisburg, Greensburg and Orange and has given talks and retreats in numerous parishes.  She has been interviewed about the Bible on National Public Radio, CBS Radio, Catholic Community of Faith, The Drew Mariani Show, and Seize the Day.
