Christine Valters Paintner, Ph.D. is the online Abbess at www.AbbeyoftheArts.com, a global monastery without walls and an online gathering place for the Holy Disorder of Dancing Monks.  She is the author of seven books on contemplation and creativity, including The Artist’s Rule: Nurturing Your Creative Soul with Monastic Wisdom and Eyes of the Heart: Photography as a Christian Contemplative Practice. Christine is a teacher, pilgrimage guide, spiritual director, and Benedictine oblate, and she lives out her commitment as a monk in the world with her husband John in Galway, Ireland.
